Video Designer Job Description
• Responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact
• Listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design
decisions
• Meeting clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and
requirements of the job
• Interpreting the client’s business needs and developing a concept to suit
their purpose
• Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through
research
• Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
• Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost
and time
• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
• Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
• Working on layouts and art-working pages ready for print
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design
programs such as indesign, quarkxpress, freehand, illustrator, photoshop, 3ds max,
acrobat, director, dreamweaver and flash
• Commissioning illustrators and photographers.
• Working as part of a team with copywriters, photographers, stylists,
illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing

Video Designer Required Skills
• Trained or educated as Video Designer or similar role apply
• Must be expert in various tools used in Graphic Designing, especially indesign, quarkxpress, corel draw, freehand, illustrator, photoshop, 3ds max, acrobat and flash
• Up-to-date with recent technological advances and developments, advances in computer technology and how this affects the business environment and have a strong client focus
• Proven work experience as a video editor
• Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
• Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
• Creative mind and storytelling skills
• Ability to imagine innovative ideas
• Must be able to provide a optimized plan for any structure or project
• Must be capable to optimizing own plans to manage time
• Ability to work as a part of team
